Give AI a Watchlist of Your Local Sources Instead of Prompts

Right now local posts happen in bursts and then stop for six weeks, because finding something worth saying depends on you remembering to look. Naming eight sources takes an hour, once.

The Quick Take

Most agents use AI for local content by opening a blank chat and asking it to write something about their town. Rejig's setup works the other way around. You define your service areas first, and then you point the system at specific publications to watch.

From the help documentation, on the areas: "Add up to 5 areas here as well." And on the sources:

"If you have a specific blog or local publication you'd like Rejig to monitor, you can set that up under the Sources section"

That is genuinely all the documentation says. It does not describe what the system does with those sources once it has them, and we are not going to fill that in for them.

Our Take

The product is not the point. The architecture is, and you can build it today in whatever assistant you already pay for.

Right now your local content depends on you remembering to look for something. That is why it happens in bursts and then stops for six weeks. A watchlist inverts it: the sources are named once, and the looking happens whether you remember or not.

The list is the work, and it is an hour. City planning agendas, the county commission calendar, your local business journal, restaurant opening sites, neighborhood association pages, parks and recreation announcements, school district news, and the one hyperlocal blogger everybody in your market reads.

The instruction matters as much as the list. Tell it to ignore crime and national news and anything with no homeowner angle, and to turn each story it keeps into three things — a social post, a Google Business Profile post, and one line you can send to your database.

Do This
  1. Write down eight to ten local sources you would read if you had time. Planning agendas, the business journal, restaurant openings, school news, one local blogger.
  2. Give that list to whichever AI you already use with one standing instruction: only stories that affect homeowners in your named areas, and nothing about crime or national politics.
  3. Ask for each kept story as three pieces — a social post, a Google Business Profile post, and one line for your database email.
